SWALLOWED

I relish the lies I tell myself.

Tasty morsels

Of deceit

Keep the tongue

Occupied…

Prevent flatulence

From escaping the Wrong way;

All my neighbors Are at ease

With me

But when –

By some moral condition –

The sweet melts away

And saliva takes its place;

And all I have strived

To digest

Comes passing out…

Taste remembers it’s Brevity.

Life's a party in a sunflower field. Even when we wilt, we are beautiful to behold.
